FYI: The Bible on the History Channel

Normally, I find out about great programs to watch on TV after they air, but this time I’ve heard about an “epic” TV mini-series that starts tomorrow.

On Sunday (March 3), The History Channel begins a ten-hour five-part series on the Bible, creatively titled The Bible (from 8-10 ET). Information on the series is here and the Bible trailer is here.

To read the Christianity Today interview about the series with producers Mark Burnett (Survivor) and Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel) click here.

Tomorrow’s episode seems to be focused on Genesis and Exodus. Hopefully it proves to be done well and with success. Now, if only I had the History Channel, and if only I had DVR, I’d pre-program my TV for tomorrow night.

Update: Episode 1 drew a reported 2.5 million Canadian viewers, and observers say high ratings can support the production of future similar ventures. Episode 2 is broadcast on March 10th.
