Born a King

Isaiah prophecied of old, a child to rule in peace.

And He would reign on David’s throne with government increase.

(Isa, 9:6,7)

CHORUS:

BORN A KING, BORN A KING!
JESUS IS HIS NAME.
AND HE MUST REIGN FOREVERMORE,
THE PROPHET DID ACCLAIM

A Branch will sprout from David’s line.  In Jeremiah ‘tis known.

The Lord our righteousness His name,  to sit on Israel’s throne.

(Jer. 33:14-16)

And in the book of Micah too,  the place of Jesus’ birth

Is prophecied ahead of time,  where he could come to earth.

(Micah 5:2)

David’s Son was prophesied,  to be at God’s right hand.

But he was David’s Lord as well,  His power no foe withstand.

(Ps. 110:1,2,5; Matt. 22:41-46)

A stone in Daniel chapter two,  cut not by human hand.

It crushed the idol to the ground,  and grew as God had planned.

(Dan. 2:34,35,41-46)

In Zechariah’s prophecy,  with shout of joy to greet

Your King comes with salvation,  to rule the world complete.

(Zech. 9:9,10)

No jot or tittle from the law,  can ever pass away.

These prophecies will be complete,  when Christ returns some day.

(Matt. 5:18)
